BrightSource Energy

While serving as Chairman and CEO of BrightSource Energy, I had the good fortune of working for nearly four years with Mr. Khan in his key role as Director  of Finance. In this complex global company, Amir was a tireless central player in providing sound forward planning based on analysis of multiple possible project development scenarios. He was a critical resource in helping analyze and carry out several challenging  company restructuring exercises. Amir consistently demonstrated an ability to translate very detailed financial spreadsheets into practical and useful information that often became baseline information for Board level discussions and decisions. He was entirely reliable and always available. In addition to his planning role, Amir took on the global treasury function, balancing cash needs at multiple foreign BrightSource entities and working currency purchases as required to suit local business needs. I would highly recommend Amir as an innovative, experienced and energetic financial professional who clearly has the capacity to contribute to or lead business strategy and market analysis tasks.

Local Bounti

I met Mr. Khan in August 2021 when I joined Local Bounti Chief Operating Officer.  Amir was one of my eight direct reports and I quickly realized that he played a critical role in managing all aspects of operational excellence for the company, including predictive demand planning and supply / demand balancing across the business.

Mr. Khan developed key KPI operational metrics that the leadership team reviewed each month to gain insight as to prior performance and to develop strategies looking forward to drive operational performance. Amir was able to successfully bring financial acumen into the operational views that drove and supported the business from all perspectives.  Amir’s contributions and analysis drove significant yield improvements in crop cycles.

In addition to operational excellence and metrics development, Amir played a key role in the commercialization of new products by leading the integration between operations, R&D, and new product development.  As the business expanded, Amir’s operational models allowed the business to scale proportionally and efficiently. As Chief Operating Officer, I relied upon Amir as my right hand advisor on all operational matters.
